The Rhetoric of Health and Medicine signals "a broad array of health publics" and "their discursive practices, some of which...intersect with medical institutions"; it also includes "the broader set of health texts, artifacts, genres, and practices...in medicine and health (Scott, Segal, and Keranen, 2013). By encouraging an examination of "the constellation of symbolic and material rhetorics that influence daily life and public meanings, and practice" (para. 2) in health and medicine, World Health & Medical Policy seeks to advance insights that might ultimately contribute to improved policy outcomes, and thus improve public health and wellbeing. In the spirit of interdisciplinarity, we seek manuscripts that translate the specialized knowledge and theoretical constructs of rhetorics of health and medicine for an audience beyond the discipline, reaching policy scholars, practitioners, and the public.

World Medical & Health Policy is planning a special issue on the Rhetorics of Health and Medical Policy for 2019. Editors will select from among submitted abstracts. Papers invited for submission will be due October 5, 2018 (submitted via the journal website) and will undergo double-blind peer review to be considered for inclusion.
